Razor Blades in Halloween Candy?!
Turns out this is entirely fiction...never happened.
Since the 1970s parents and kids alike have been inspecting their candy to ensure there were no Razor Blades, Needles, Poisons, or any foreign objects.
Contrary to popular belief, there are no recorded incidents of strangers putting razor blades in candy, or any foreign objects for that matter. There were a variety of hoaxes that children were a part of during the 70s and 80s in which kids said this happened, but in actuality, it never did, researchers found in some cases they were pranks that went wrong, and in others, the kids were just looking for attention.
That being said, there was one case in1974 in Deer Park, Texas, where a man named Ronald Clark O'Bryan gave his son and friends Pixy Stix laced with cyanide on Halloween, but it was not from trick or treating at all, it was a psychotic father giving it to his own child and his friends.
